– Heroes of Warland is our first team based multiplayer game, where two teams of four players in each battle against each other in few minutes matches. Team based games and shooters are still relatively new on mobile, and there’s not that much of competition, which means there’s good opportunities for acquiring new users and scaling up the game. Heroes of Warland has gained a surprising amount of positive attention already during soft launch, so our expectations with this upcoming launch are high.
”Our approach is now portfolio driven, rather than focusing on a single game.” What do you mean by that quote? What are the actual changes for Nitro as a company?
– Basically a portfolio driven approach means that we have more games in live stage, than just one. However, it’s much more than that in practise. With portfolio driven approach we look at the whole portfolio as a business case, rather than focusing only on a single game. This means we have new type of opportunities in both development and marketing of the games. For example, we have flexibility in focusing our development resources to a game that requires attention, while our marketing might be working on another game in optimizing the user acquisition and finding the right audiences. This means we have more flexibility overall, more learnings and data faster and most importantly, more potential for scalable revenue streams.
